HOW TO USE/FAQ (Tips/Suggestions)

Will the STICK-N-SWITCH Magnetic Bumper Frame stick everywhere on my car?

No (Only on metalic surfaces).  Car doors, trunks, and the side panels near the trunk are usually the best places.  Certain areas of cars do not contain any/enough metal for car magnets to make a connection (such as some car hoods, side panels, and bumpers).  STICK-N-SWITCH Bumper Frames will conform to slight curves but will not wrap around large curved surfaces.  Always make sure that the frame is making a solid connection.

TIP: To avoid scratching your vehicles paint, be certain that your vehicle and the STICK-N-SWITCH BUMPER FRAME surfaces are free of dust, dirt, and debris.

DO NOT SLIDE THE FRAME ACROSS THE SURFACE OF YOUR VEHICLE!!! If you would like to reposition the frame, carefully lift it off your vehicle and move it to the desired location.

Can I bend or fold the Stick-N-Switch Bumper Frame?

NO.

STICK-N-SWITCH Bumper Frames are designed to be flexible but should not be bent or folded.  Bending or folding may cause damage to the frame!

TIP: When placing on the side of a vehicle, be certain to position the frame opening towards the back of the vehicle. This will reduce the possibility of losing your bumper frame while driving.
TIP: When using a bagged display, be sure to slide the bag into the slot with the zip lock edge going into the frame last.  Our updated Stick-N-Switch frame is designed to accommodate the zip lock edge at the open end.

How do I get the paper out of/into the bag without damaging both?

Simply open up the bag making certain that the zip lock is completely undone.  Pinch the sides of the bag near the top of the opening to create an "eye" shaped opening (don't bend too much or the paper will crease).  While still pinching the top into an eye shaped opening, carefully grab the paper and slowly pull it past the opening of the bag (See photos below).  Putting your bumpersticker into the bag is done the same way.  Pinch the opening of the bag into an eye shaped opening.  Bend the paper so it is arched and slowly place into the opening of the bag being careful not to fold or bend enough to create a crease.  Once your bumper sticker is in the bag, gently press out any excess air before sealing.

What size canvas?

When using photoshop or a comparable program, create a canvas size of 3x10 or 4x6 (or any multiple thereof).  Keep in mind that the STICK-N-SWITCH Bumper Frame will cover a small portion of the canvas once framed (1/16" to 1/8" of the canvas edge).  Any important imagery or text should be placed accordingly to ensure that it is not covered by the framework.

How do I print? What kind of paper?

It is suggested that a heavier stock paper be used (card stock/photo paper), but normal office paper can be used (not recommended).  Use 8-1/2"X11" Letter size paper and choose 8x10 or 4x6 photo layout (8x10 layout is for our 3x10 sized bumperstickers).  If your printer has the option "Fit to page", uncheck the box, and the image you are printing should appear correctly on preview page (Your printer may have different options than in our suggestions.  Please consult your printers user manual if you need assistance).

Can I print on both sides of the paper?

Yes....but let the ink dry before you do!

Printing on both sides of the paper is a great way to utilize the interchangeability of STICK-N-SWITCH!  All you have to do is take it out of the frame, flip it over, put it back in the frame, and you are good to go!

How do I protect the paper from the elements?

BAG IT!

Every STICK-N-SWITCH Bumper Frame comes with a plastic reclosable bag to protect your printed bumpersticker!  Just place it in the bag, seal it, and frame it!

LAMINATE IT!

If you do not have your own lamination machine, there are many places that will laminate paper for you (ie. FedExKinkos or local copy shops).  We are currently working on alternative methods of lamination that our users can easily do at home.  Keep checking back for updates!

I want to trim the paper to fit...What are the dimensions?

When using bags:

The 3x10 or 4x6 bags require you to trim just under those dimensions in order to fit correctly inside (2-15/16"X9-15/16" for 3x10 size; 3-15/16"X5-15/16" for 4x6 size).  The easiest way is to trace around your printout using the STICK-N-SWITCH advertisement that came with your frame.  When you do this, you will notice that the corners have been trimmed off.  Sharp corners may poke holes in the bag!  Cut just the tip off of all four corners.

When laminating:

In order to allow room for the lamination adhesive to create a bond, about 1/8" of space is required.  The actual window of our STICK-N-SWITCH Frames are 2-13/16"X9-13/16" (3x10 size) and 3-13/16"X5-13/16" (4x6 size).  Cut your bumpersticker a little larger than the frame opening (2-7/8"X9-7/8" for 3x10 size; 3-7/8"X5-7/8" for 4x6 size).

Do I have to trim the paper so it will fit in the bag?

No....You can choose to fold the paper instead of trimming, but you may not be able to store multiple bumperstickers in one bag.  We recommend that you trim the paper to fit.
